We are Jars of Clay

That’s right. You and me and everyone alike. we are all jars, beautifully made by a Creator. Like an artist, he values each one of his pieces. Some of us have cracks, some may have odd curves or spots or edges. Some may look perfect on the outside but are crushed under the internal pressure of what they carry. Some are just one firey emotion away from blowing to pieces. No matter how frail and imperfect, God loves each jar as if it were the only one. Each one taking an infinite amount of time to form, each reflecting a piece of the molder, each serving a unique purpose. And he don’t miss. What most fail to see is his hand in our existence. A creator that is invisible in a world where the creation has been shattering for decades. It’s no wonder why we all feel broken. But where there is breakage, God scrambles to pick up the pieces. What seems impossible to fix is a quick repair job for Him. And when those broken pieces are mended back together it reveals the real beauty of the jar. Not in appearances or how sturdy or durable it is. Not even the fact that from its broken shambles it can be made as good as new. When he repairs us from our brokenness, it is made clear that what’s held inside is what matters the most- his unconditional love for all of us. We are Jars of Clay.
